White iPhone 4 is MIA- Still Missing In Action or finally Making It’s Appearance?

For months many have wondered and speculated about the release of the White iPhone 4. Well Apple surprised many today with an update to the Apple store iPhone application that had the White iPhone sitting in the reserved section.  Now keep in mind I said ‘HAD’.

Yes, Apple apparently got wind that the new addition was out stirring trouble and causing heart palpitations around town and quickly removed the image.  This begs the question- Will the white iPhone 4 ever have a release date?   Since the phone’s launch in the summer, Apple has skirted around the topic of a release date, just saying that “they will not be available until later this year.” Oh well, I guess for those of you who are highly anticipating it’s release will have to continue to use a white case to feed your need for the color option.

So today marks the first day you can begin to pre-order the iPhone 4 (in black only). However,  it was met with frustrated consumers either standing in lines or pre-ordering online.  Any site that were allowing iPhone  4 preorders(from O2 over in the UK to AT&T here in the U.S) became overwhelmed with the influx of people trying to pre-order the newest iPhone. Apple’s website also became stalled, which comes as no surprise since Apple was using AT&T’s server to check on the upgrade eligibility status. Those who thought heading to the store would be the sure way around this fiasco, found out whether  or not they were wearing the proper shoes for standing in long lines. Apple employees also found difficulty setting up pre-orders , facing similar problems due to the high volume on the site.  It’s obvious that patience and persistence is the name of the game. Last night, I set my alarm for every 30 minutes,  to ensure I was one of the first to get my coveted confirmation number, using the Apple’s website. After several hours, I became frustrated but eventually found success over at AT&T’s page. Now, it’s on to level 2 of the waiting game.  June 24th- here I come!

Apple has done it again. They have announced a product that I now dream of at night…....and day. The iPhone 4 has been revealed and it boast specs and features that the competition is now scrambling to compete with. Retina Display, HD Video Recording and Editing, multi-tasking(done right), folders for your apps, 5MP Camera with LED Flash and my personal favorite.........

Video calling we call FaceTime.  That alone is reason for me to purchase the phone. We've dreamt about it, grew up watching the Jetsons do it and watched Penny talk to Uncle Gadget using her watch.  But alas, its here. I enjoyed their video presentation which highlighted various times and occasions FaceTime would be of great use. It is easy to use, with one touch you can be connected to your caller face to face.  They also added an additional front facing camera to the mix, giving your caller a view of you and whatever you are watching. Every year, Apple add new features to the phone that peaks the interests of the consumers. However, this year they have really up the ante, reinventing the phone in a way that makes even hard core techies swoon. So what are your thoughts on the iphone 4? The pre-order date is Tuesday, June 15th with a release of  June 24th. Are you planning on getting your hands on one?
